From Haleiwa, Chaz Bowser started Island Concepts consulting after returning to the Hawaiian Islands to complete his final assignment after 24 years of military service. He is a 3rd Generation Army Ranger having served in units ranging from Airborne Infantry, Sapper, Long Range Reconnaissance, and Special Operations Assignments. Additionally, he served two years as a civilian Police Officer in San Bernardino, California during a break in military service.
Serving
in combat operations in both Iraq and Afghanistan, Chaz performed duties
as the primary (Joint) Weapons Combat
Developer working with units such as Army Special Forces, Army Ranger,
Navy SEAL, and Air Force Special Operations. His mission was to acquire
& develop, then train our warriors on the most advanced weapons
available.
These systems run
the gamut from sniper rifles, machine guns, combat pistols, battle rifles
and all aiming devices from night vision to thermal to lasers. He was
and still is, the only commissioned officer from all the services Special
Operations units combined, to serve in this capacity during the war
in both Iraq and Afghanistan.
Chaz has been featured on KGMB9 Television at the start of the 2007 Storm Season as a subject matter expert on island survival preparation. He was also featured in the very popular, Midweek Magazine (Entrepreneurs Section) addressing “Preparation for the Next Crisis” with emphasis on his new upstart company. Since most of his clients are women (maternal instinct) he was asked for an interview by Women's Surf Style Magazine and is in the Fall 2007’ issue talking about what it is he can offer to prepare families for disaster. His kits have been purchased by single parents, families – both young and old.
Additionally, he has published articles in numerous other professional periodicals regarding combat weapons. Most recently, in a pointed article in The
Army Times giving a full expose’ on military weapon procurement through a unique cycle of “user envision, user test, then user select” in order to try and gain a replacement for the greatly outdated and highly inadequate M4/M16 rifle which needlessly endangers our men and women serving in the current Global War on Terror.
